Must watch. A topic way out of mainstream with such subtle nuisances. Beautiful.
A girl finding herself after her marriage breaks. The story reminds anyone of similar kind of story already portrayed in a super hit movie a few years back? Sasti remake of the movie Queen aling with sasti Kamgna🤣
Pagglait is yet another great addition to the series of Hindi movies dissecting the middle class Indian families and their hypocrisy. It is a Dramedy focusing on a young widow & the extended family surrounding her during the 13 days of mourning after the death of her husband. Most of the movie is within a house. A house crammed with so called relatives and their "well intentions", their gossip, their superstitions and their regressive mindset. Which is a perfect setup for the kinda dark comedy & chaos that makes you chuckle & uncomfortable at the same time. This role fits Sanya Malhotra like a glove. She delivers her performance like a breeze. All the supporting star cast members are also terrific with their roles and add to the ensemble brilliantly. The screenplay effectively balances the contrast between the rituals of death being performed vs the lives that are being lived for those 13 days. It is the mirror that I'm sure most of the Indian society will not want to look into. The OST of the movie is singer Arijit Singh's debut as a Music Composer, and it stands out melodiously as a fresh album. Overall I really enjoyed Pagglait a lot and agreed heavily with everything it had to say.
Story starts with a complicated situation and goes on with it's flow and the various consequences. Performance of all the actors was mind blowing. Specially the casting of this movie is brilliant. You can tell that supporting cast is more surprising then the main lead. Above else Music as well as situational comedy is looking totally fresh and you can enjoy it. Sanya Malhotra is one of my favourite actress because she has this charm in het act that i like the most. So if you are looking for the unique and fresh content than this is it go for it.....
First things first, I am strongly against the name of the movie. The movie title is misleading and doesn't go in favour of this beutiful movie. The is brilliantly written and directed, great cast and kudos to the lead actress. She makes us believe in the character. Audience deserves more movies like this, low budget high content.
Pagglait is the story of a young woman, widowed soon, with an inability to grieve. It's entire cast is full of brilliant actors, so there is no complaint in acting. Good to see Shruti Sharma in a Hindi film after Agent Sai. Every dialogue is damm good. It's also the first music album by Arijit Singh as a composer and the songs are really nice. This film has everything which isn't accepted by our society. It shows us how a woman is controlled by a society. So, I think everyone should watch this specially women. It may encourage them. Horrible. The movie is extremely boring. The genre comedy is completely incorrect. The movie is deep in the psychology of a woman whose husband died while there was no love between them. Also, it depicts the plight of women in our country. The message of the movie is very good but the dramatization is not for me. Just because the movie ends on a high, the slow nature of the movie cannot be ignored. Full marks for covering Indian Societal issues in the movie. The potrayal of societal mentality is spot on ranging from superstition to castism. The drama genre is correct but the comic element is way off. There are hardly any comic elements in the movie. I would not recommend anyone who is watching it as a comedy movie but if u are in for a slow middle class family drama, this might be the movie for you.
