The film started ok, nothing new but it wasn't terrible, then got worse towards the middle with the last half hour or so just being laughable at just how far fetched and stupid it became.
It's not a bad movie if you don't try to take it seriously from the moment it starts. It's daft. For the main not really funny just plain daft. Through and through. Nothing and I mean nothing in the film is to be taken serious. I can manage this which means the film is interesting. Carries itself well and keeps you engaged. The only thing that I have a problem is why oh why did no one take a baseball bat to the Drone once it was realised that it had become a problem? Anyway ..
Wow all I can say is I think whoever made this film once he was done the script, embarked on a walk and just asked people who past him on the street and asked if they wanted to be in a film about a drone, Also yeah this is basically Vhilds Play except it's a drone... I had to skip thru it cause it was soon dam awful, For one... When I got near the end, And she's doing something in the mirror or whatever while the drone is watching her, and she obviously can't hear the drones engines over the terrible suspense music playing is the only logical thing I can think of....like did you write this in a day or something what the fudge was that
Don't bother. Its a bad movie with bad acting. Concept is cool which pushed me to rank it a 3.6 but Jon Mayer caused it to lose a point. Cheese to the max 3.6
Jordan Rubin's follow up to his undead rodent horror/comedy Zombeavers is a tongue-in-cheek technological thriller with a premise so knowingly ridiculous that it's hard not to enjoy at least a bit, despite a lot less of the sexiness and outrageous gore that helped to make his previous film so entertaining. John Brotherton and Alex Essoe play married couple Chris and Rachel, who find themselves menaced by a consumer drone possessed by the spirit of a serial killer. This silly set up allows for numerous very daft scenes as the drone flies by itself, carrying out a series of acts (including killing the family dog and murder) in order to get Chris out of the picture: it eventually transpires that the serial killer was an ex-boyfriend of Rachel's, and he is still obsessed with her. The novelty of the sentient drone menacing the couple does get a touch tired towards the end, and the lack of serious splatter is a little disappointing (the drone bumping off a private eye by flying up his butt is all too brief, while the double decapitation of two policemen is only seen as a shadow against a wall), but the game performances and a general sense of fun go a long way to making this a serviceable time-waster. 5.5/10, rounded up to 6 for IMDb.
This by far is one of the worst movies I've ever seen!!!
How do films like these get financed? Absolutely bonkers to think that people pay to make these kind of films, let alone anyone watches them. Avoid like the plague.
It's a similar concept to that of Child's Play, except for some reason it feels completely absurd to suggest a drone could be possessed by an evil spirit and not a doll, which is arguably the wrong way round. So, it's the old tale of bad guy gets killed and his spirit enters a drone. The drone is then found by an unsupecting couple and becomes part of their family and proceeds to mess up their lives bit by bit. It's packed with cheesy lines and unbelievably silly moments but is in fact quite fun and also funny. It's probably more of a straight comedy than a horror or thriller so don't expect a dark movie with black humour - it's very light entertainment, with a few bloody moments but nothing too surprising. Utterly ridiculous but at least self-aware.
