I feel like the writer of this movie has never observed human behavior before. These two characters are utterly alien. Somehow all of the cute, endearing jokes only divide them, and the repeated captivity situations don't really seem to phase them. So much of this movie seems unnatural. Why is there an overnight guard at a failing theater? Why doesn't this theater conform to fire codes? How do these guys afford to live in L.A. without any professional income or personal success? And do people in L.A. really talk in a non-stop string of cliches? Honestly, it was hard to listen to the dialogue. There's just nothing relatable, nothing believable in the entire movie.
It must've been so bad that they're trying to trick people into watching it. Seriously, I found it on YouTube, and it's got a pic from the movie,"Murder Mystery " (with Aniston and Sandler) in place of an actual picture from it's own movie!
One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Very weak story (almost no story at all). Waste of time.
A team of unlikable poseurs who aren't actually good at anything (owners of an empty theater and a bookseller who's never read a book) spend a night and a day trying to impress each other, only to come up with a dumb, derivative idea. The story is further dumbed down with cartoon squiggles, like the visual equivalent of the stupid noises added to "America's Funniest Home Videos."
I got to watch it last night. Cute and charming movie!
Even it is a comedy, romance is without doubt...but it is art also...simple...long time no see movie like this...
Idea is damn good. Theatre as background make you think of your own time with love ones on a date when young. Romantic and sweet memories back when watching this. Also very French style. Beautiful!
Great chemistry.Between the actors .Very enjoyable film
A first date goes downhill when the couple get locked in when the cinema abruptly closes. There is not a lot of substance to this film, the story is very basic with a tiny cast. Sometimes the execution of the movie feels a bit amateurish. A few scenes are inexplicably shot without tripods and the editing clips some of the conversations so they feel jilted and forced. But, saying that, this is a very enjoyable short film. The cast are great and, although simple, the story is endearing and works well with the available budget and plays to the cast's strengths. The majority of the production, sound, lighting, camera etc. is to a standard you could almost forget you aren't watching a big budget movie. I enjoyed this greatly, I wouldn't recommend centering your weekend around it, but this goes down perfectly on a weekday evening with a bag of popcorn.
