If you have a brother you might relate. Lovely movie
These two seemingly dissimilar siblings went up the mountain, screwed up repeatedly and hilariously, but then it got serious and life threatening. Before that happened, I really didn't see it coming and never guessed how it would play out, and by the end of the movie I believed that those two were men now. Well done!
This movie was ok, but nothing more than that. I see some rave reviews here and I'm wondering if they're fake. I also see some people saying it's a comedy?? Huhhh. It's definitely not a comedy movie. I don't know what movie they watched. It's a drama about 2 adult brothers dealing with life problems, family issues, and growing up/maturing into adulthood. They work out their issues, grow and evolve over the course of a weekend in the mountains. There is some mild action that takes place, but overall not very thrilling. Chace Crawford is pretty to look at, but nothing exciting or romantic happens. And he's bundled up in winter gear the whole movie, so no sexy shirtless scenes either. Production value was decent. Acting was fine. But overall, this movie was pretty dull to watch. And despite the attractiveness of Chace Crawford... there wasn't much charisma happening either. Neither brother made you want to care about their character. Overall, it was ok. If you have nothing else to watch or feel like watching something boring then this will due. But definitely nothing thrilling here. I wouldn't watch it a second time, that's for sure.
I probably never would have watched this movie if Chace Crawford wasn't in it. I stumbled across it and because I adore Chace, I had to see it. I was not disappointed. There are a few groan-worthy and eye roll moments. Some say overuse of the F word, but that's one of my favorite words, so I'm ok with it. There are comedic parts, but overall, it's a drama that tugs on your heartstrings. Two brothers, who love each other but have drifted apart. Circumstances pit them together into a tough time. That gets even tougher when there's an accident and the slacker brother suddenly becomes the caregiver. It's a good reminder to remember who your family is and the love you have for them. The banter is witty, but real. Siblings fight and they have underlying resentment. I rooted for these two the entire time. I really loved that minus the beginning and end, it was just the brothers for the whole movie. I recommend it, and I'll definitely watch it again.
Mountain Men is a story of two brothers that have grown apart through time, They both grew up in a small mountain town with relatively harsh winters. The youngest chose a different path and sought out the city life in New York, while the elder brother seems to be in a small town rut, which is amplified by the news he is to be a father. The two brothers are reunited when their father dies, and mother remarries. The elder brother seems to be more open to strengthening their brotherly bond, and goes out of his way to spend time at their late fathers cabin in the mountains. After the cabin and truck were burnt up through a series of "go figure" moments. Without phone communication, and weather and time against them, the pair decide to hike to the emergency shelter in order to stay warm. The movie gets more dramatic when the younger brother breaks his leg and needs medical attention. The oldest decides to weather the elements, in a good-hearted effort to help his brother asap. The goofy bonding excursion shifts into a story physical and mental tests; all believable. The brothers take advantage of their late fathers pre-cautionary survival guide in particular circumstances that bring a pleasant, comforting feeling to the brothers. Moments of clarity, confusion, and acceptance ultimately bring the brothers closer together, and gives the youngest the peace he needs with his fathers death. The film is provides subtle humor and realistic problems that are solved appropriately, which makes it enjoyable and believable. Very well casted, and no complaints about the acting. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and the message was a pleasant one.
Mountain men is a film that keeps you entertained. It's use of comedy and drama along with a heartfelt story makes you want to keep watching. The performance of the cast is brilliant.
12/19/2018 New movie description: Two turds drive to snowy mountain cabin, get lost in Antarctica. Director and writer allow them to survive with movie happy ending. Who woulda thunk? Pointless, NEVER funny intended for small minds and other modern day munchkins. Not for sensible, intelligent movie lovers. A 5 star rating is being overly kind. Watch if you must, It's a movie, that about says it all. Bon Appetit
Absolutely wonderful! One of the best movies I have seen in years. Let's face it most movies these days don't even try and 80 percent are horror stories about vampires and werewolves. This movie reminds us of what family means. Touches on a bond between brothers, growing up, responsibilities and survival skills. Topping it all off with the breathtaking beauty of the wilderness. Beautiful shots of the Rockies. I especially love Tyler Labine since I saw him in this, Best Man Down, and Someone Marry Barry. I think if you go into this movie with an open mind, not paying attention to reviews - either good or bad, you will be pleased you took the time to watch.
Lovely to see Tyler Labine out of his comedy comfort zone and doing good at it to.Lovely to see Tyler Labine out of his comedy comfort zone and doing good at it to.Lovely to see Tyler Labine out of his comedy comfort zone and doing good at it to.Lovely to see Tyler Labine out of his comedy comfort zone and doing good at it to.Lovely to see Tyler Labine out of his comedy comfort zone and doing good at it to.Lovely to see Tyler Labine out of his comedy comfort zone and doing good at it to.Lovely to see Tyler Labine out of his comedy comfort zone and doing good at it to.Lovely to see Tyler Labine out of his comedy comfort zone and doing good at it to.
