Desperate to see their church grow, Pastor John (Robert Amaya) and his wife Betsy (Erin Bethea) do the unthinkable and change their church Christmas pageant. Flabbergasted, elderly choir director Mary Margaret (Sallie Wanchisn) leads the choir to boycott. Facing termination, Pastor John resorts to disguising himself as an old man to bridge the generation gap, win over Mary, and lead the choir back to the church. When he discovers that the wounds run deeper than he thought, Pastor John must learn to love the unlovable or risk the ruin of his church and family.

These Christian film seem to deal with life from a fairy tale perspective and never deal with real life. Takre my word for it vindicative old crones DO NOT emerge as saintly people when shown a little love, instead they return kindness with hateful venom. This film sugarcoated life and pastoral ministry 100%, plus it was not entertaining at all!
"Altar Egos" was a pleasant surprise. This film depicts a church's struggle to change (which anyone who goes to church can relate to) and a pastor's effort to bring his congregation together.
Poor Robert Amaya who has inherited the church that dad used to be the pastor of. He and wife Erin Bethea want to make some changes, maybe attract some more of the young folk. But the old battle axe that his chair of the board ain't about to let that happen. Sally Manchisin's got some real issues. Among other things she's a control freak. Amaya gets the brilliant idea to disguise himself as one in her age bracket and tries to reach her that way. He learns some highly interesting thing in the process. This amateurish production comes from Jerry Falwell's Liberty Baptist University and probably won't see many bookings beyond church basements.
