The Pentaverate

Yes it's a little silly. Yes it's a little slapstick. I like it. As a Mike Meyers fan I love his sense of humor. In the times we live in there is enough cynicism to go around. Kick of your shoes and have a laugh and stop trying to make everything so complex. These days everything is a 1star of a 10 star. There is no longer a middle ground and I get a sense that most reviewers are just bitter. Learn to just have fun and have a laugh.

I wanted to like this lampooning of our modern culture living lives immersed cultic Private Idahos, but then I realized over half of the characters were played by Mike Austin apowers Myers, who's one trick pony bits were only amusing when he was surrounded by the foil of his amazing fellow cast members in one the great eras of SNL. But then again, somehow mainstream america thought Friends and Frasier were funny in the 90's. And Keegan gets killed off in the first episode. It's just not watchable. Im rating it 2 for the subject he's lampooning otherwise, but just go watch Space Force, its more fun in a similar vein, spoofing idiocracy..

Into the third episode and it's a bit hit and miss if I'm being honest. But, as an Austin Powers fan I'm going to keep watching as when it is funny, it is actually very sharp and clever. The Netflix censored pool hall scene was sheer genius. I can't even begin to imagine how the dialogue was so cleverly pieced together to make the joke work the way it did. Also, did anyone else get "The Prisoner" vibes or was it just me?

What in the world did I just watch. This was dull with slight digs at things that aren't funny. Mike Myers is way past his prime and is no longer funny.

Key and Lowe are awesome in this, but I feel like the show was good idea ruined by meyers playing all the roles, and very, very stale jokes, nothing as funny as characters Meyers used to play. Disappointing!

Stupid jokes and fun comedy. The story is good enough to keep you watching and some of the scenes are actually hilarious. It's certainly not for everyone but if you enjoy silly things, toilet/sex humor once in a while this is great fun and a nice way to pass the time.

I spent the first few episodes thinking... this style of comedy was done and finished. Yet I kept watching..... By the midpoint, I was chuckling away at silly "old school" toilet humour. I remembered how not to take everything so seriously. By the end, I was laughing out loud at the randomness of cliches and stupid jokes while noticing that Mike Myers sparked the way for the Coen Brothers and Wes Anderson. To be fair, it's not brilliant, but hey, neither are you.

I know what this is! Most of these reviewers think this is just entertainment, and that is what these reviews talk about but little do they know that this tv show is a wake-up call for the common people to see what the rich and powerful are really doing to our planet and to us! It takes a lot to pull Mike Myers out of retirement and let me tell you something! A Russian President with Dementia! An X President that sides with White supremacy/OMG the list is long! Still not answering for their crimes! The world leaders that control OPEC side with politicians by raising gas prices when needed for elections. Man-made diseases! NO! Mike Myers, could not sit on the sidelines any longer! My man! This is not supposed to be Austin Powers' funny! This is supposed to be an Eye-opening art exhibit wake-up call! If you missed that part then your dense! I applaud the cast and characters of this fantastic show that has shown me an amazing story of the rich and powerful pulling our strings through the eyes of Mike Meyers! Well done. 10 + 10 + 10 x Infinity stars!

If you like Austin powers or Wayne's world you will like this. It's great to see mike meyers at it again! I gave it a 10 because people are being unfairly rude. But it really is a lot of fun.
