This movie had interesting twists and turns. Cameron Monaghan was fantastic! He shows his acting chops from being the Joker to Ian Gallagher to this naive guy in a bubble, Chris. Chris has no experience or judgment in the story. Just a tech man of habits and not very tangible. Krug on the other hand did not pull off being unpredictable/Intelligent and terrifying con artist/ grifter. She was no Sharon Stone (Basic Instinct) or Annette Bening (The Grifters). Sky didn't have that range as true crazy or a grifter. She was flat. Otherwise I enjoyed John Malkovich, he created a comic energy. Monaghan held the movie together especially as the film progressed. All in all it was a suspenseful thriller and fun ride, plus it was a short film.
Cameron Monaghan is a great performer who always accomplishes to pull through whatever demands his roles require. John Malkovich was a great addition to the film but shouldn't have died so soon. I loved the feeling of suspense and the alternation between thriller and other genres, and the touch of classical music gave me the thrills.
I mean i know he only got the part few days before shooting began but that was just..terrible acting. I was a big fan of "Shameless" and i've always thought he had potentials, but clearly i was wrong.
Is John Malkovich OK? Seriously - he's very out of place in this ill-conceived idea of a "thriller". An amalgam of ideas from past classics stitched together for a freshman writing class. Embarrassing acting performances, especially the female lead - to the point where you question if the writer, director and actors were trying to make something purposefully bad as some sort of a statement? I don't understand either. Dear Mr. Malkovich - blink twice if you are in trouble.
This is a copy and paste of a couple other movies I've seen. If I'm not mistaken Keanu Reeves was in 1 similar. Hot chic shows up and screws up guy. Some end differently but this 1 had a spot I kinda didn't see coming at the end.
The only reason why I decided to watch it is because I have seen John Malkovich on a poster. Once I noticed that it is Thriller, I thought it might be some Crime and Detective. I met my disappointment after 15 minutes of watching it and felt bad for John Malkovich and partially for Frank Grillo because he is genuinely trying to be a good actor. Have you heard or seen "Manglehorn" (2014) with Al Pacino or "The Gunman" (2015) with Sean Penn? Then you will probably get an idea. Well, it is just sad seen John Malkovich in such a $#itty movie. "Shattered" (2022) is the same as "The Voyeurs" (2021), taking a great chunk of their foundation for the scenario from the TV Show "You" (2018-), so the more, or longer you watch it, the more you understand that nothing spectacular will happen. It will end up in some sort of conclusion as a waste of time. P. S: Yes, this movie also can be considered as a Plagiarism if we will take in consideration "Knock Knock" (2015) with Keanu Reeves.
There is no way this movie got a score over 3 stars unless the cast, their friends and their families voted for it to bring it up. The worst part is the story The poorly written lies do yourself a favor and watch the news or anything else or just look up the sky it's going to be a better spend time.
