Thanks to the utter brilliance of writer/director and possible heir apparent to Steven Speilberg Tommy Wiseau, I can never see actor Greg Sestero as any character other than Mark, and I subconsciously say "oh hi Mark" when he pops up. Infrared, which Sestero also produced, really could use some Wiseau magic. As found footage "ghost hunters in an abandoned location" films go, this one is no better or worse than most. That isn't saying much. The cast is capable and tries but you can only do so much with what they've been given to work with here. It tries to literally check all the found footage cliche boxes and mostly does. It's watchable but far from memorable.

Just imagine sitting in a chair staring at your wall for 89 minutes. Watching a pile of rocks is more entertaining. Flossing your teeth is more exciting. To be fair the actors showed some promise but the fact NOTHING happens is still that.... nothing. Ever. Happens.

The fact that the majority of this film is improvisation... wow! That alone makes me respect this project to no end. A great addition to the found-footage genre/filming technique. As someone who does not typically watch thriller/horror/jump scare type films, Infrared has given me renewed hope to pursue these types of films more in the future.

I couldn't make it through more than six minutes at a sitting. I ended up refilling my empty spice and seasoning containers and rearranging my spice rack. Ya, that was more interesting than this film. Can't even call it a slow burn, more of a tepid leftover omelette. This film was like, a handful of folks binged watched Grave Encounters (pretty good films those two are) and Hell House LLC and every other iteration in that sub-genre and decided to toss their hat in the ring. IMO it's a failure. Can't recommend it for any reason.. I've spent more time writing this review than I have watching the film in one sitting.

Thoroughly enjoyed the film. It feels real and a little awkward, like found footage should be. It left me suitably uncomfortable and on the edge of my seat because you knew the scare was coming but I couldn't pick where from. The ending is surprising and the brother/sister relationship as well as the filming of that evolution is well done. Just the right amount of humorous moments and conflict that feel genuine and natural.

The ending is the only thing that sucked for me like the story telling was good he talks like every youtuber ever basically I really was surprised how good it was I get why people could not like this because it's slow and nopthing really big big happens but I enjoyed it.

Directors and writers Robert Livings and Randy Nundlall Jr. Have gone back to the found footage well for a movie about a show also called Infrared which has a paranormal investigator and his production crew searching for ghosts at the Lincoln School, an abandoned and possibly haunted place scheduled to be razed. Wes (Jesse Janzen) is the exorcist. His sister Izzy (Leah Finity) is a medium. Randy (Randy Nundlall Jr.) is the producer. Austin (Austin Blank) and Rob (Robert Livings) are here on sound and camera. They're ready to make a paranormal TV show but searching for the kind of content that will break through what's on basic cable. As they roll past the school, Wes becomes obsessed and convinces the caretaker (Greg Sestero from The Room) to let them inside. Years ago, a gas leak killed several students and a teacher and the place really is haunted, all while Wes and Izzy fight as they had a falling out years ago and never expected to work together again. Honestly, I could never see another found footage movie again and be happy. This at least has a solid performance by Sestero and a pretty frightening last ten minutes, but getting there is filled with so much talking and enough shaky cam to make me nauseated. Even I have my limits.

I found Infrared on Tubi and decided to give it a watch. There had been some mixed reviews and I was curious because it had Greg *The Room* Sestero in it. It was created on a budget and it shows in some of the effects. The acting can be a bit erratic at time but overall, is actually pretty solid. The premise, a found footage film has admittedly been done to death, but there are some good ones out there and this is one of them. The movie isn't long, but it does take it's time to set up the story and let it breathe. There isn't a lot of blood and gore, but some solid atmosphere and a sense that things are starting to go wrong. I enjoyed it and I think it's worth a watch.

I love it when filmmakers have strong sense of direction and tone within the found-footage film canon. Not to mention, this movie does what many struggle to do and blends two genres together seamlessly. What an absolute hoot!
