This was the debut for Tori Keeth. She hit a home run. Great acting and message. A tale of Kindness, forgiveness, Christian values and love. Tori got to display her singing skills also as a skit was put on by the camp. This movie sent a message to the viewer but it looks like the few who gave this such a low rating didn't get the message. I hope to see Tori in more roles. She gave an inspired performance.
So let me get this straight out there I am not religious. This film shows the typical trope of summer camp friendship formed over common background and activities, and yes it's a low budget film. However that does not mean that it cannot be an amazing film about friendship, grief, forgiveness and moving on. Percy is a likeable character from the start whom provides the key point in getting everyone together as much as possible, and providing the support each character needs to push past their barriers. It is well worth the watch.
Unless you are paid up God Squad, definitely one to avoid. Starts off okay, but usual formulaic 'girls on summer camp' plot, then morphs into some kind of horrific hybrid of It's A Wonderful Life and a Bible Christian Centre promo. How it scores over 5 on IMDB is beyond me. My 2 start review hopefully can go someway to redress this fallacy. Amazon Prime - what we're you thinking?
What a great movie. I loved the characters and the story. Great message, wholesome and relatable
Inspite of the clichés that kept adding up, I continued watching this movie, finding it a refreshing relief from the loud and mean movies we keep getting from Hollywood (the ones where everyone acts as if its normal to flaunt the sex and to use gutter language when talking with your parents or children.) The religious themes didn't slam me in the face but were more like an undercurrent. While ithe identity of the stranger was obvious halfway through the movie, still it was a pleasant experience. I was glad to see Mariette Hartley. What I can't figure out is why the actor who played the stranger was omitted from IMDb's listing of the cast.
I enjoyed this movie. It is nice landing on a movie with a positive message.
