Being older I can relate. I gave it 9 stars because it was exactly what I expected. It won't win any oscars , but it was fun and entertaining.
I absolutely loved the movie. Heartwarming and hilarious! Great characters. Love all the actors in this movie. Can't wait to watch it again! It is a feel good movie!
My husband likes action films; I like calm funny films; we both loved this movie!!! The actors were great, the story line was great and the one- liners were hilarious! The music was upbeat and a perfect fit for each scene. I highly recommend this movie! This is a movie husbands and wives will agree on.
I absolutely loved this film. It was funny and heartfelt. The characters were believable and touching. I purchased the movie through Amazon. I wanted to be able to watch it again and again. It's going to be one of those classics that you go back to when you need something light to make you smile. Go watch this movie!
What a delight seeing some of our favorite actors in this film. The chemistry between Shatner and Smart sizzles on screen. Shatner and Lloyd are wonderful together as lifelong buddies. This reviewer can even imagine a sequel highlighting more antics with these two and Smart's character having to come to their rescue. Though having less screen time, Morales also delivers a great performance. I love that the filmmakers represented and celebrated our beautiful human diversity with multiple generations, ethnicities, as well as LGBT characters. This is one for the whole family.
The entire movie is written around making Shatner and Lloyd "look good", like having a friend who follows coat-tails and never knows what they're doing. It would be better to create a generic life situation for all people of this age in this era, then sit back and let the two actors decide on what decisions they would make going through it. This movie is just a reel of "perfect situations" and light awkwardness.
Old Man and ex-pilot about town has his wings clipped and ends up in the company of local lady baker. Will he grow up and settle down? Will he cast aside the younger California candy for true love? It's delightful fluff and shouldn't be examined too closely or too harshly. Bill Shatner and the cast are a delight, the script works well, and the surroundings are comforting. Not challenging, thankfully... just fun.
I thought this movie was great. It was happy and fun in a time when that is needed. The cast was great, and who doesn't love William Shatner, Christopher Lloyd and Jean Smart (Smart was AMAZING). This is worth seeing.
This was a most pleasant surprise. A romantic and funny comedy involving older people. So refreshing! Shatner and Smart deliver heartfelt and humorous performances. Supporting cast was also really great. If you want a feel good movie that doesn't take itself too serious...this is it. And Palm Springs backdrop is a bonus!
