Granted, as I sat down to watch the 2021 crime thriller "Ransum Games" I wasn't sporting much of any high hopes or expectations to it. But still, with it being a movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I opted to give the movie a chance. Yeah, I should have listened to the voice at the back of my head telling me to skip on it. Indeed, "Ransum Games" was that bad. In fact, I only made it 20 minutes into the ordeal, then I just gave up. At that time nothing interesting had happened in the storyline, and hearing the N-word uttered in every single sentence just grew very stale and irritating very fast. The cast in the movie was adequate, I suppose. I can't really tell, because I couldn't connect with a single character in the movie, nor did the writing spark any interest in any of the characters or their horrible dialogue. Perhaps I am not the target audience of the movie written by writers William Pierce and Devin Wesley, but wow, this movie was atrociously bad. Talk about a swing and a miss. From what I witnessed in the gut wrenching 20 minutes I suffered through, the movie's cover/poster was actually the best part about the ordeal. I am going to have to settle on a one out of ten stars for "Ransum Games". It was indeed one of the worst movies I have stumbled upon in a long, long time.
I know damn well Wood Harris's and Elise Neal's Careers haven't fallen off this badly. It looks like something from the early 90's that someone found and said "Ooo, let's makes some money off known people." If so, you should be ashamed of yourselves. You should have let his film die a graceful death back in 99. If this is a new film then damn. They make iphones with better quality...
Savon (Devin Wesley) made money as a street thug and has retired to nice comfortable home. He used to kidnap people for money. Now his past catches up to him as he is kidnapped and his wife refuses to pay the ransom. Very boring. Bad acting. Much of the film takes place in one of two rooms. Twist wasn't good or well developed. Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.
