In order to watch this movie you have to keep your expectations very very low, because of the bad writing ofc, it most likely a typical high school story without anything special.
Not totally wrong but we a major flaw: MISCASTING. All three girls pretending to be (in the very first scene) in the freshman year and then in their sr. Year while they were all 23-26 yo and JMcC sometimes looks even older than that. Virginia G was somehow the most believable character. KC was a good surprise but her acting was quite too loud. Kate Berlant (the counselor) was far too borderline. JMcC has some good scenes but she is still in the nowhere zone between tv series style acting and TV movie acting (real movies are something differente) Ok, this is and SHOULD be watched as an not too much pretentious movie about friendship in high school. Still there are lot of popcorn teen movies much better out there. Meh.
What a bland, terrible, unfunny, predictable and generic movie. The cast tried and two scenes with Jennette McCurdy made me intrigued, but this is bad.
Nothing new. All the so called cool kids are stupid and jerks and the sensitive or intelligent kids are geeky. So it follows the same storyline of every other high school teen angst movie. Except, the middle of the road kids (main characters) purporting to be themselves are just obnoxious, rude and crude.
Skipped through most of the starting of the movie and I was okay ... Not so interesting but a good moral ..
What a hilariously funny, smart, weird, dark comedy. This is for anyone who loved John Hughes movies in the 80's or My So Called Life in the 90's.
