"Bad Sisters" offers us an innovative, well-filmed and well-acted whodunit anchored by Sharon Horgan's experience and cleverness. So what's not to enjoy? Horgan seems to design her conceit in a world where every male character are repulsive villains, their flaws abusive, shallow, and selfish in turns. Conversely, women are portrayed as victims, struggling to usurp controlling relationships and bumbling through their efforts. Horgan tries to paper over her commentary with her always sharp, entertaining wit. Feeling rage at the abusive relationships portrayed is natural. It's unfortunate that Horgan seems uses her immense talent to make hate against a group of people - in this case, all men - an acceptable choice. The show also misses a valuable opportunity to show how women could respond to these relationships in strong ways. The filming is great, the story compelling, the acting and writing well-executed. Like turning over a spoiling fruit, the ooze of hate underlying the show rots the end product.
