Bray Films has done it again. Proving they do comedy as well as drama. Lots of colorful characters populate this entertaining flick, making sure you won't forget any of them any time soon. Pastor Rain was unlike any pastor I've seen. Nothing Need Moe to be said. Watch and enjoy.
This movie is insane in the way it balances humour, action and drama. It's perhaps it's best selling point. You will see some Spike Lee influences but hey, that's a great thing. I also like the use of breaking the 4th wall, it works really well here. It also works as a satire for our consumerism based society where money is God and everybody want a piece of the pie. All in all it's a wild rollercoaster of a movie that can be serious even though it doesn't take itself to seriously. Give this bad boy a go.
My wife and I watched the trailer and said, "yup, we are DEFINITELY watching this one!" - and we are glad we did. Totally worth the watch. A sweet combination of laughs, pathos, and action, with solid acting, good writing/production value, and direction.
This movie was a lot of fun to watch. The acting and story line is great. I highly recommend this one. This is one that I'll be watching again and again.
Someone on social media kept referring to this being the number 1 comedy on TUBI. So I decided to check it out. This was clearly a biased opinion (he had a part in the movie) I did not find ANYTHING funny about this movie. The copy cat Debo (from Friday), the copy cat Randy Watson (coming to America) was absolutely corny. The concept of this movie was spot on. The delivery failed in my opinion.
The simple fact that the brilliant mind of a small indie filmmaker had this idea for this movie, and Hollywood with all their money and talent didn't...shows a lot about Hollywood. All they are doing is making the same films over and over. These filmmakers looked around, noticed what was going on, AND HAD ENOUGH SENSE TO WRITE IT DOWN!!! They may not have a studio budget, but they had a GREAT concept, pulled together their talents, and made an incredibly original film. Yes, there are a few nods here and there, but all films do that. Hats off to the team for pulling this off! One last thing...cousin should not have taken the wrap!!!
What could have been a great movie quickly went off track. Too many side plots (Mr Cuddler getting paid for hugs... the paster storyline) made a really good movie bad. Give it 5 cuz it had potential but why the end of the movie with all the side plots it all got confusing.
