I was reading some reviews on this movie and pretty much ignored them because of all the star power. In the end the critics were right about this movie. Every actor in this movie looked out of place and not interested in the part they were playing. Let's start with the younger kids in the flash backs. Overall, the acting was very poor from the younger generation in this film, Channing Tatum younger barely spoke and when he did it didn't seem real. Maybe, I was thrown off here because Tracy Morgan and Channings younger didn't even come close to resembling the adults. I don't think anyone read the script before accepting the gig. Throwing a lot of great actors together for a crime thriller sometimes doesn't work and this is one case where it failed. Poor story, poor direction, and just downright bad acting by a lot of the big names in this film starting with Channing Tatum. If someone could turn back the clock this movie would of never made it past the green light.

Hard to have a bad movie with a cast like this, but here you have it. Tatum and Holmes are over their heads, and the kid portraying a young Tatum was awful. Pacino, Liotta and Binoche are underutilized and miscast. Too many flashbacks and an inability to connect.
How exactly did they get all these "big name" actors to play these parts? regardless, this title is making me rethink their status. I sincerely think they had some court ordered community service to perform. It's the only thing that makes sense. I mean their agents COULDN'T have told them this was a good career move. the script sucks, the direction sucks. talk about a made for TV movie, wtf is this total crap?
Look, with all honesty, I rarely review movies, but this one, just couldn't help with, I just signed up for IMDb so I could warn people not to waste their time the same way I did, not giving away spoilers, just trying to help others, do not watch this bad movie, bad story, bad acting, bad ending.
I cant believe how Al Pacino accepted this role !!! Doesn't all great actors choose their movies ? Thats the first time i have walked out of the movie after the first 30 minutes , have never seen so boring , plot less and stupid movie .... Scenario 0/10 Directing 0/10 ... Im very unpleased that there is no 0 number on the site cause thats the exact number that movie deserves.to Al Pacino " Al u don't fit in that kind of movie , don't do that mistake again accepting such roles " .... I suggest to all people who doest went to see that movie in cinemas - please save your money and don't waste your time . I was so shocked that i had to invest around 30-40$ more to get drunk and forget what an negative emotions i got from this terrible experience calle "The son of no one ... All i was saying to me was WTF ???? How is possible such actors to appear in such movie !!! AL,Ray - shame on you guys - u don't deserve this !!!
The Son of No One is (in my opinion) a good police thriller with some nice twists and great actors. Channing Tatum is okay at his job, but all of the time he doesn't show big emotions. So his face actually never ever changes. You could say that he acts bad, but maybe its a part of his character. Overall he can act much better, I know. Ray Liotta and Al Pacino do their work also good, but have not so much screen time. To bad, the Director could make a bit more than this. But what really ruined that movie for me, were the flashback scenes, where we see the young character of Channing Tatum. The acting is bad and the dialog is just terrible. I watched lots of movies, but this is maybe one of the worst script I have ever seen. If they would have made these scenes better, the movie would have a better rating. All in all its not as bad as many think. Its okay for a rental...
But it was confusing or I got confused. About 2/3rds of the way its somewhat obvious who is at work but (without giving away too much) it creates suspense along with some confusion and sloppy denouement.
This movie really exceeds the acceptable societal norms and tolerance for vulgar language within normal adult society. The language used in this film, displays a particularly low end uncouth aspect of low-end Hollywood society, where every third sentence must contain such words as "*", "shit" or any one of their infamous siblings. This movie is just another boring cop movie, with the exception that it is far more boring than any cop program you will ever see on TV as part of weekly series. You won't find any weekly cop shows descending to this level of total boredom and or mediocrity!!
