The jokes are bad, not the best acting, and very unrealistic, nothing that happened in this movie would happen in real life. Every five minutes I thought about watching something else, I don't know why I didn't, but I wish I did. Maybe if I was 10 it wouldn't have been so bad.
I liked the last 4 and a half minutes... the rest is boring... Almost rewatching by mistake, movies with bullying are disgusting me more and more, not the movies, but the actions contained in them, very cute ending... At least that...
Just for a brief moment I thought this movie would be something fun, clever, with well developed characters, an interesting conflict, and perhaps even a smart satire about teen angst, school and society... You guess it, I hoped for "Mean Girls". But no. It is just plain dumb, stereotypical, full with clichés, prejudices, tasteless jokes, under developed characters.... It's a shame because of the very good actresses they got. But bad scripts, bad filming and a very pool conception of life, can't save anything. Avoid it at all costs. Really, just watch Mean Girls again. (they even dared to call out Tina Fey during the movie... not cool guys. Not cool).
Pretty good watch, would watch again, and can recommend. This is really you're basic "coming of age", "high school clique war" movie. What makes it stand out is the cast. I just happen to recognize them from several different things, but they're clearly acting over their weight class in this movie. Eden Sher ("The Middle") has the undaunted hyper-active peppy thing down to a science. It would be like watching happy puppy videos to just see her do her thing for hours on end. Victoria Justice ("Victorious") has a big enough personality to match Eden's enthusiasm and enough control to make her character grow into it. Ashley Rickards ("Awkward") oddly shows her talent by being a narrowly closeted character and the proverbial "straight man". Peyton List ("Jessie / Bunk'd") has a subtle role, but I'm just happy to see her not playing an idiot. Along with all the other supporting roles, the cast really knocks it out of the park with their delivery. I would have liked it to be a little "more", the potential is there, I just don't know what could have made a high school story like this "great". Solidly good watch though, if you're okay subjecting yourself to "high school drama", then you should enjoy this.
I congratulated my dog for writing this movie, whereby he immediately barked offense. It was my best guess nonetheless. Three stars because the cast isn't terrible. I'd be shocked if each and every one of them hasn't tried to go back in time and save themselves from this utter embarrassment.
I thought this movie was underrated. It was a super cute and enjoyable flick. Maybe not the makings of a classic, but still really fun.
Great movie. I love Victoria, Avan and Peyton so I watched it for them since they're my favorite childhood stars. I love how young they were able to make Victoria look and I love the fact that she wears glasses because I rarely see main protagonist with them. It was a well made movie. Had a great, simple plot and was conducted well. Perfect movie for children, teens and pre teens. It reminds me of one of those movies that I would watch in class at school.
This film could be called "Mean Girls 3." It is basically the same type of film where high school outcasts get revenge on the evil cool clique. The two girls who lead the charge are Jodi (Victoria Justice) a Tina Fey clone and Mindy (Eden Sher) auditioning for "Big Bang Theory." The characters and plot were formula. The dialogue was cute enough to make up for the short comings of predictability. Worth a view if you like "Mean Girls" type of films. Not as good as "Mean Girls" but better than "Mean Girls 2." Guide: No swearing sex, or nudity.
I had quite low expectations when deciding to watch this video but I was gleefully surprised by how sophisticated it was. I've read the reviews which compare it to mean girls and although it may have some similarities I found it to be more driven by a educative purpose on what power is and how it is procured and corrupted. At first I thought it was lame that it quoted 48 laws of power which is a remarkable book but then I realized the writers verily had a good understanding of the book and it's dynamics in a high school space. To conclude, if you don't have the interest of thinking and want merely to be entertained perhaps this movie is not for you. But if you want a movie that'll challenge you then give this a chance.
