I am ashamed I stayed to the end with this one. Grown men acting like the usual teens in slasher movies should have stopped me going further. It is one of those films where you end up 'slacked jawed' at the shear awfulness of the WHOLE production. Two idiot brothers who think they're funny (to themselves) but are just loud and obnoxious and EXTREMELY untalented, wrote and produced and gave themselves 'starring' roles in this travesty. BORING BORING BORING. No tension, no fear and nothing to see here. Don't be fooled into wasting your time. I have no doubt that friends and family only, gave this mess the high scores on here. They should be ashamed of themselves, I am for watching this nonsense!!
The rating is way too high on this film, this is what I might call a 3.8. The first hour is filled with pointless footage that just keeps going. The acting is poor and these "Expert Survivalist" just are not very convincing. Felt like I wasted my time watching this. I should have taken a clue from the first couple min in that this would be poor.
This is a wonderful found footage horror that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It does a great job of not trying to do too much and lets you stay with the characters. The tension will build throughout and keep you guessing!
Just when I thought there was nothing new in the found footage genre, along comes She Walks The Woods. A new spin on a classic genre. The film is fun, creepy, well done and filled with genuine scares. There's real tension in the methodical build of the story. Though it's a horror film, it all feels very real and genuine. I won't give anything away, but I strongly recommend this movie!
20 years on from The Blair Witch Project, it's still influencing enough filmmakers to keep the found footage genre alive on its own. And while there are a considerable amount of duds out there, there's also enough gems to convince us it's worth sticking with this much maligned sub-genre of horror. And She Walks The Woods certainly falls into the gem category. The set up is simple - as four people head out into the remote wilderness to film their latest edition of the web series Ultimate Survival, only to come across something horrific that hunts them the minute they arrive at their remote, off the grid cabin. And after obliviously thinking it may be a mountain lion, the four soon realise that it's something far worse. Found Footage is always at its best when it keeps things straight forward, which is why She Walks The Woods works so well. No unnecessary jump scares, no red herrings, just a gradual build up of dread that beholds the small cast of characters until they eventually fall victim to the thing that walks the woods. The tension keeps ratcheting up as every POV shot through the cameras threatens to reveal whatever it is that's stalking them. She Walks The Woods feels like a love letter to the aforementioned Blair Witch Project, and there's nothing wrong with that. It's a great effort from everyone involved and hopefully there will be more to come from them. Fans of the FF genre will really appreciate She Walks The Woods for its slow burn atmosphere and genuine creep factor, and whilst it may not convert anyone who isn't already a fan of these films, those of us who do like them we are well catered for. Highly recommended.
Loved this found footage style indoe horror flick. Did a tremendous job of building the tension and keep ing me engaged the whole time. I was totally invested in the cast because of their solid performances. Great concept and executed very well!
Just when we thought the found footage genre had nowhere to go, this is a really fun and inventive take on the Blair Witch idea. Great scares, relatable characters and some incredibly creepy set pieces. Check it out!
This film is awesome! I love a good horror flick and this does not disappoint! Kudos to these guys for nailing the found footage horror genre. I was drawn in from the first shot of shaky footage as the story developed genuinely and organically. I was impressed with the surprises and taken for an awesome ride with She Walks The Woods. The premise was believable and the actors killed it. Congrats to all and definitely recommend this to all horror fans! EEK!
She Walks The Woods is an entertaining and scary horror film in the same vein as the Blockbuster hit film Blair Witch. The great cast will keep your attention from the beginning to the end credits. I reccomend this film.
I have to admit I am not a huge fan of the Found Footage genre however when done right and cleverly it can be effective. Without spoiling it She walks the woods utilizes a nice twist on a sometimes stale genre, keeps the mystery alive and enough tension and fear that makes you want to stay until the end credits.
