This is a low budget horror film, so keeping that in mind it's not hard to see the effort and pride that's gone into this. It's acted well and the leads have good chemistry, yeah the special effects lack that of a higher budget movie, however, i really enjoyed it and would recommend, definate progression from directors previous film and I'm looking forward to further projects.
I can't believe I wasted time watching this. Sat through it expecting it to somehow pull together and go somewhere. It didn't. Movie bounced around too much. Props appear with no idea how they came about. Is there an endless supply of candles and canned goods? Shouldn't add that since I've added spoilers, but whatever. Don't watch. Waste of time.
This movie starts out really well. The cast does well, the set up for the supernatural is good. The premise is good. It all falls apart however less than a quarter of the way in. Jump scares cannot sustain a movie, especially when you reveal the source of the horror right off the bat. It becomes just a tedious drag watching the protagonist run around without direction or hope acting terrified for hours and hours it seemed like.
The worst film I have ever seen in my life... Can't believe it 2018....its actually laughable its so bad... Do not waste your time
DARK VALE is another cheap British indie horror film that follows a young couple around as they visit a cemetery in London before finding themselves menaced by a malignant female spirit. It's found footage in style, lacking any kind of decent and constructive plotting, mainly an excuse to explore some spooky locations from old cemeteries to abandoned houses.
Watched with my girlfriend a few nights ago and we both thoroughly enjoyed the film, some genuinely scary moments and definitely does a good job of creating a very creepy and at times very intense atmosphere. Really talented actors as well, both leads are excellent in their roles and give very solid and emotional performances throughout and the writer/director knows how to craft an entertaining and well thought out story. If i'm being nitpicky, I'd say the timeline could have been more clearly defined (one flashback in particular involving a ghosthunter isn't completely clear where in the story it takes place) Overall though this is definitely worth watching, a well crafted, well acted and very nicely put together hour and a half of film
