تدور قصة الفيلم في إطار رومانسي درامي حول روزي (ليلي كولينز) وأليكس (سام كلافين) اللذين تربطهما علاقة صداقة قوية منذ كانا بعمر خمس سنوات، لذا فإنهما يريان أنه من المستحيل أن يقعا في حب بعضهما البعض، ومع مرور الوقت يحاول كل منهما البحث عن شريك حياته الآخر، ولكن يتضح لهما أن هناك شيئًا ما يربط بينهما، وكأنه الحب.
