The plot is very good! A very underrated drama which deserves more views. Its about a group of people losing their loved ones in crime and now they want justice in their own way. This is probably the first K-drama I have watched which is without the romance (I have seen many now😜). Usually a vengeance storylines can seem a bit boring and predictable but this one will not bore you that I can guarantee. There was not a single dull moment. It's an edge-of-your-seat drama. There are some beautiful emotional scenes which will make your eyes bawl. Points which I love the most in this drama: 1. Strong female lead- Lee Si Young is a well known face for such characters. She is not a damsel in distress, she can do some really kickass fighting scenes which will blow your mind. We need more strong FLs like her. 2. Insane villian- Park Solomon is so hate-worthy that at one point you will wonder how can a young man can convey such hatred. 3. Kim Young Kwang- Ok! I have to admit that he is the reason of watching this drama. He is my forever bias. I just love love love his beautiful smile. In this drama he has a grey character with many layers which will confuse you at first but eventualy it will grow on you. He is not a typical ML here which we see in other dramas. 4. Supporting cast- Every supporting actors have done justice to their characters. Every character has a brutal and sad past which define their actions. When their story unfolds you will get closer to them. Overall its a nice crime-thriller-action genre drama. Although the ending is not clear or you can say an open ending but it will hook you till the end, and if you are this particular genre lover then probably you will think that why I haven't watch it before? PS: If you are a Shawol then watch it for Key 😉
This series was very enjoyable; to this day it's still one of my favorites. The plot contains mystery, revenge, remorse, temporary happiness-so many things that were mixed quite well into 32 episodes. This approximately 16-hour worth series entertained me a lot, although the ending was slightly disappointing. I loved Jo Sooji's character, and the fact that Lee Siyoung, the actress, was pregnant whilst doing all the stunts herself only increased my respect for her as well as my love for this series. Kim Youngkwang (Jang Dohan) and Park Solomon (Yoon Siwan) easily climbed up my favorite actors list. They're so talented.
This show teeters between being great and ridiculous at the same time. The only thing that kept me watching was the mystery of how it all ties together. The plot is layered and intricate, revealing a little bit each episode to take you to the final outcome. Yet, despite this intricacy, the show throws a lot of convenient unrealistic scenarios (example, guessing a safe code and just taking security cards from in-front of someone) and unrealistic character actions (example the victim being choked doesn't fight back at all and how easily culprits are captured then escapes). Of course this is all fiction, but the flow of actions and consequences could have been done better to make it more realistic. The acting is alright. The main male protagonist does a great job in his portrayal. The female lead is alright except for the hysterical antics whenever things doesn't work out for her. Not a huge fan of this hysterical element. It may just be the written characteristic but it is very irritating after a while. 6.5-7/10 Alias, Covet Affairs or Nikita are better female lead rogue type shows.
Some interesting characters, a great soundtrack, and a decent plot kept this show interesting right up until the last two episodes, which for some reason (as another reviewer stated) had the characters suddenly make stupid decisions for no real explanation. The team of vengeful rogue cops and hackers suddenly become fairly incompetent against the psychotic teenager, who was creepy but not particularly competent or strong. It felt like the writers were unsure how to end the show and so a scrambled climax was thrown together for the sake of drama only. The psychotic teenager, who is a skinny weak kid who has taken his murderous urges out on children as they cannot fight back, suddenly decides to push our main character, who is a very tall, seemingly strong guy, off a building. I get that he was standing close to the edge, but he saw him coming, and he didn't have to fall. It felt very pointless, and you don't even know if the psycho teenager survived or not. There was also a really mean red herring at the end that made you think the main character had survived. Overall I don't know if I would recommend watching this, as the end felt really hollow and disappointing.
One of the best things about Lookout is the thrill that gives, with the whole finding the culprit and making the bad guys pay theme blending well with the strong female protagonist and the high tech team. The cases are okay, though the main case with that criminal mastermind high school boy. Actually, that boy's performance was really good, playing the manipulating murderer who's still a minor. But, the other actors' performances were great as well, bringing a freshness to the whole drama. However, even though I did tried to really like this drama, something about it made me tired of watching it. Though the actions scenes were a handful, the actual plot was a bit of a series of bad people not getting the punishment they deserved and as a result people suffered. So, maybe the concept wasn't that well executed. Nevertheless, a good action drama, so 5 out of 10.
The drama has a cool plot and the actors are skilled enough to make you hooked up! Here, Kim Young Kwang can be compared to legendary actor Health ledger for his superb characterization of a very complex character. Park Solomon, the main antagonist is a minor yet delivered such a strong acting that can give you chills. Lee Si-Young was the real gem as an strong badass female lead. And the supporting roles were also pretty good. So it's a real deal if you care to watch some good acting! But honestly, even with this much strong points, the drama lacks proper synchronization. Korean dramas usually has some inevitable plot holes and dragging but their audiences rather likes it that way. But if that bothers you, it might not be your cup of tea.
I've watched a good amount of this show and so far it's been really good. There's a lot of good actors and the main actress plays her role well. If you like shows where the main character is trying seek revenge and get justice for the bad things people have done you'll like this.
With a story and plot with an 8/10 all the up way to the 14th episode, the show turns for the worst. A lot of things don't make sense, the characters all of a sudden go from smart and onto it to dumb and dare I say stupid and the last 2 episodes produced just seem sloppy! The last 2 episodes I would rate a 1/10 pr 2 /10.
