This is when Kurt Angle humbled John Cena. In September 2003, Kurt Angle lost his WWE Title against Brock Lesnar. A week later, Vince McMahon wanted to honor Lesnar and Angle interrupted. Vince thought Angle came out to congratulate Lesnar, who said he’s there to kick his butt. He knows Vince won’t give him a title shot so he gave him two options. Lesnar either comes out and Angle beats the hell out of him, or Angle finds him backstage and does the same thing, calling him out. Cena interrupted, telling him to stop whining, because since he lost his title, he also lost his crown jewels. Angle instantly snapped, started assaulting him, threw him out of the ring and told Lesnar he’s going after him. Angle was looking for him backstage, he found his locker and it was empty. Cena ambushed him and started assaulting him. Cena was running away, got into his car and drove away. Angle told the limo driver to go after him, he said it’s Vince’s limo, Angle threatened him and they went after Cena. A week later, Cena said he’s tired of standing in Angle’s shadow and as of that night, Angle will stand in his shadow. Later that night, Cena teamed up with Lesnar against Angle and The Undertaker. The ref was distracted with Taker and Lesnar, Cena hit Angle with the chain and pinned him for the win. Next week, there was a rap battle between Cena and Angle. Cena did his usual verbal attack. Angle unexpectedly answers him amazingly in rhyme right back. He ended by saying he’s not there to rap but to fight. He knocked down Cena and started assaulting him. Cena fought back, started assaulting him, went for the FU, Angle countered him, hit him with three consecutive german suplexes, went for the Ankle Lock and Cena ran away. Cena’s music started playing next week, Angle came out impersonating him, doing the whole mock Cena rap and called out Angle. Mini-Angle appeared, he even did the signature pose with the pyro. Fake Cena said mini-Angle can’t step up to Cena, telling him he’s not half the man as he is, doing Cena’s you can’t see me
