Episode 306: Summerslam 1996 The last time Summerslam took place in Cleveland prior to the 2024 edition took place 28 years ago in the year 1996. A time when the WWF was no longer #1 in the Monday Night War, they had to continue business as usual. And what we ended up getting was one of the worst Summerslam's of all time; you could argue maybe the worst in history. Because outside of the Undertaker/Mankind Boiler Room Brawl & to an extent the Shawn Michaels/Vader WWF Championship Main Event, this show had nothing noteworthy on it. No title changes, nothing good on the undercard, King Of The Ring Stone Cold Steve Austin relegated to the Preshow, no Intercontinental Championship match due to Ahmed Johnson's injury. This is my review of Summerslam 1996. 0:00 Intro & Stats 0:59 Steve Austin on the Preshow 2:19 Cancelled Intercontinental Championship Match 3:43 Owen Hart vs Savio Vega 5:31 4 Team Elimination Match(WWF Tag Team Championships) 7:46 Sycho Sid vs The British Bulldog 9:15 Marc Mero vs Goldust 10:17 Jake Roberts vs Jerry Lawler 11:20 The Undertaker vs Mankind(Boiler Room Brawl) 14:23 Shawn Michaels vs Vader(WWF Championship Main Event) 17:44 Recap & Ring Bells #Summerslam #WWF From The Vault Episode Archive: Twitter: Instagram: Facebook: Threads: Subscribe, Like, Comment, Click The Notification Bell Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research.
