I was asked this question on the amateur boxing subreddit. "What is the difference between slipping at the waist like Tyson and slipping with the hips... Like most traditional boxers?" In addition to what i state in the video, the peekaboo slipping technique is better suited to shorter boxers with shorter waists as it is very core intensive to pull your torso back and forth like that. It's easier for shorter torsos to perform this kind of movement and it's side to side movement makes it easier to stay inside the pocket with your weight forward when defending. Taller boxers use their feet as their primary defense (or they should) so slipping multiple punches inside and keeping your weight forward when defending is less of an issue. Both will get you where you want to go. Which one is best for you will depend on your style and your body mechanics.
