Wrestling Bios Presents - The Story of Hulk Hogan Real American Theme Wrestling and music go hand in hand together. The WWE has used entrance music for years to both excite the crowd and also to give the wrestlers more character while making their entrances more exciting. In the mid 80s, the WWF partnered with MTV to create an era now known as The Rock n Wrestling Connection. The WWF had access to singers and celebrities who could make appearances on WWF shows while the WWF would air some special shows on MTV. Eventually, this collaboration led to the creation of The Wrestling Album, a collection of songs that had wrestling personalities singing while being produced by some of the biggest names in the music industry (at the time). Rick Derringer recorded "Real American" for The Wrestling Album. The song, at this point, was not used for Hulk Hogan's entrance theme, but rather it was an extra track that wasn't associated with any wrestler. Eventually, the US Express tag team would use Real American as their theme song, but it wasn't until Hulk Hogan using Real American during his entrances that the song would become iconic. In this mini documentary from Wrestling Bios, we take a look at The Story of Hulk Hogan's Real American theme.
