On March 3, 2017, at the M-1 Challenge 75 international mixed martial arts tournament, two formidable strikers clashed in a thrilling and spectacular battle. Former M-1 Challenge champion Magomed Sultanakhmedov (Gorets), 18-5, returned to the sport, moving up to the welterweight division to face the rising Sergey Romanov (Sich PRO), 10-1. Five years earlier, after knocking out American fighter Tyson Jeffries and defending the organization's middleweight title, Magomed Sultanakhmedov, due to a series of injuries, was forced to what seemed to be his retirement as a fighter. He has since served as a referee at mixed martial arts tournaments. During his career, he won the M-1 Selection and M-1 Challenge titles, knocking out renowned fighters such as Dmitry Samoilov, Viktor Nemkov, Pavel Kushch, and Plinio Cruz. His incredible punching instincts and "one shoot, one kill" style, where Magomed, with a well-aimed strike, knocked out opponents with a single devastating blow, earned him fame far beyond Russia's borders, including in the United States and Japan. Debuting at M-1 Challenge tournaments in the spring of 2016, Romanov became one of the organization's top stars and a crowd magnet in just three fights. Spectacular victories over foreign fighters propelled his career into a completely new orbit, putting a title shot just around the corner. However, Tyazh-Magi's sudden return to the organization proved a serious test of strength for the young fighter and a very difficult challenge he needed to overcome to truly lay claim to the championship belt. #Knockout #Fight #Battle
