Today, every mixed martial arts fan knows the name Sergei Kharitonov. He has over 40 professional fights and is a superstar in the global MMA scene. His controversial boxing matches and long-standing rivalry with Alexander Emelianenko are also a source of intense interest to both spectators and experts, making his every appearance both in the ring and in the media highly relevant. Today, we'll watch a fight that, I suspect, even many seasoned mixed martial arts fans haven't seen. It took place on August 20, 2005, in Yekaterinburg, at a Rings promotion tournament called "CIS vs. the Rest of the World." The card was replete with iconic names of the time, including such mastodons of Russian mixed martial arts as Bozigit Atayev, Yuri Kochkin, and Mikhail Ilyukhin. By then, Sergei would already be a true star of Pride FC and fought in the main event of the evening. Sergey's opponent in the main event was Dutch fighter Peter Mulder, a truly gigantic figure. He primarily competed in Rings Holland tournaments and favored striking, finishing most of his fights by knockout. #Kharitonov #knockout #paratrooper
