Not sure what happened between them but they just didn't mesh well. I'm thinking just a lack of time working together?? I don't know. Some awkward moments. Seemed like neither of them were prepared. The Mercedes and Willow match was good. It could've gone longer because it felt a little rushed at times, and I think that played into the sloppy moments. I also don't think they meshed well either. Weird from a booking standpoint as well. Tony Khan crowning an interim champion because he didn't want Deonna to work 2 matches within the span of a couple hours... but Blake Christian did it for the same events... so that excuse doesn't make sense to me, but maybe it was up to Deonna. This was effectively just a number 1 contendership match because Deonna and Mercedes will now face off in the future for the title, so crowning Mercedes as champion doesn't really do anything for her.
