Red Vs Green Naga Atlanta March 2023 00:30 Red hits tai otoshi, you don't see that a lot, props to Red 00:55 Bad spot for Green to be in with his hand trapped in that gi. In training make sure to have your partner stop and untangle any trapped limbs. That can break your wrist. On looking at the video again his wrist could have been trapped the entire time from the throw. 01:17 Red shin staples Greens arm as he mounts. 01:26 Red starts a mounted triangle attack and rolls through to bottom to lock it up. The triangle looked like it might take a little work so Red switches to Udi-Gatame the reverse armlock. Very impressive, while belts are arbitrary and shouldn't be focused on,it is usually a hard move for a beginner to to hit udi gatame they don't know how to create a space between their body and their opponents arm to break the elbow into. Red showed some serious technical potential and gamesmanship in this match. While his moves were not prefect, he showed a keen awareness of what he needed to do and he did it, using very technical methods. Tai otoshi and udi-gatame are hard moves to hit at any level. Props to Blue for being aware of his arm being in danger and freeing it before attempting other stuff. Ignoring a trapped limb as let to many catastrophic injuries in jiujitsu practice.
