Foot ball players are genetically gifted athletes. Here's an NFL player mowing former UFC MMA champion Sean Strickland like he's nothing. Thank you for joining me on this educational breakdown as we take a closer glance. Notes: Big football players (especially linemen and linebackers) can "mow over" smaller players mainly because of physics: momentum and force. A 300–350 lb player running at 15–20 mph has massively more momentum (mass × velocity) than a 180–200 lb defensive back running at similar or even slightly higher speed. When they collide, the bigger player’s greater mass means they experience less deceleration on impact, so they keep driving forward while the smaller player gets knocked backward or flattened. On top of that, the big player usually has a lower center of gravity and stronger legs/base, making it harder to stop or move them (think of trying to push a truck vs. a motorcycle). Combine that with good pad leverage and proper tackling technique on the smaller player often being late or high, and the result is the classic “truck stick” moment where the big guy just runs right through. In short: more mass + decent speed + leverage = unstoppable force for most collisions.
