A clip from a few years ago when I first visited Italy. In this video I begin by showing a ne-waza movement exercise before moving on to explaining chest control in groundwork. It is absolutely essential that when in groundwork you ensure that you control uke's chest and shoulders as this is how to ensure a strong technique. If you focus your weight onto uke's stomach area, then it is easy for uke to sit up, however if the chest is controlled it becomes much more difficult. I am showing a simple trick whereby I demonstrate these dynamics by showing my entire body weight on uke's stomach - whereby he can sit up with ease - compared to just one finger on uke's chest - whereby it is much, much more difficult to sit up. This may seem like a hoax, but I assure you it is not. Try it for yourself and always remember chest to chest is the best way to control your opponent, especially when transitioning!
