Khaufnak Kuwa | Haunted and Mysterious Well | Dawateislami It is said that one day a strange thing happened at the well of a village; any bucket that was put in the well did not resurface, only the rope would come back. Everyone was scared and thought that there must be a ghost in the well is making this mischief. Observing the misery of the villagers, a person agreed to go inside the well to discover the secret but at the same time he put a condition that he would go inside the well only if his brother is also holding the rope with others. The condition was accepted and his brother was called. All the people held the rope together, placed him in a bucket and sent him down into the well. The man saw that in the well there was a monkey who immediately unties the rope to free the bucket. The man searched in his pocket and found some jaggery. He gave that jaggery to the monkey. This way the monkey became acquainted with him. Then the man-made the monkey sit on his shoulder and shook the rope forcefully. The villagers started to pull the rope and as soon as the bucket emerged out of the dark into the light, the people got terrified when they saw the monkey thinking that it was a ghost who had eaten up the man and was coming up. All of them left the rope and ran away but the man’s brother kept holding the rope strongly and kept trying to pull him up and finally succeeded in bringing him out of the well. After coming out of the well, he lowered the monkey down and told the people its mischief and then said: This is why I put the condition of my brother that if I had a problem in the well, you all would run away whereas my brother would stay because of the ties of blood and the same happened. No matter how many favors someone does but blood relations are, after all, blood relations.
