This short tribute remembers Don Elbaum (1931–2025) – a Hall of Fame promoter, matchmaker, manager, hustler, dreamer and one of boxing’s last true originals. From Erie to Atlantic City, from Muhammad Ali training camps to Roberto Duran title fights, Elbaum lived every corner of the fight game with nerve, hustle and heart. He helped launch Don King, gave Michael Buffer his first shot, spun wild schemes like “Bordello Boxing,” and turned every arena into a story — even when he handed Sugar Ray Robinson two left gloves. But behind the crazy tales was a man who loved boxing so deeply he called it a “beautiful sickness.” This video is a salute to a life spent in boxing’s red-light district, where the characters are larger than life and the stories never die.
