Does the Ezekiel Choke work No Gi? (Punch Choke 2020) Brandon Mccaghren - 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu

This is a variation of the Ezekiel, which we have even seen finished in MMA in the UFC many times by Aleksei Oleinik. Aleksei seems to have multiple variations, even in his gripping. You'll notice that the Punch Choke is a specific grip. But most importantly, it's all about Brandon's shoulder positioning. This shoulder position is what makes it a strangle and not a "choke" (apologies to John Danaher for the misstep in nomenclature), though it is the conventional move in Jiu Jitsu circles to call them "blood chokes" and "wind chokes."
