On January 15th it was approved. The maker of Candy Crush Saga now have rights to the word Candy as it pertains to video games and clothing. Other app creators are already getting notification from Apple that they will need to remove their app from the app store or suffer legal ramifications. Some indie developers are already feeling the heat from King regarding this trademark filing, and sadly, most of them don't have the funds to fight back legally and will end up having to change the name of their games. But it isn't just game makers that are getting notifications, as King's filing covers all types of clothing as well from hats to sandals to even ear muffs.
