DeSanto was a four-time NCAA All-American at Iowa, finishing third at the NCAA Championships in both 2021 and 2022 at 133lbs. Ortega arrived in RAF with major international pedigree. The Cuban star won U23 World titles in 2017 and 2018, won Pan American gold in 2018 and 2020, and reached the quarter-finals of the 2018 Senior World Championships at 57kg.
