Ruiz (20–0, 14 KOs) had Hanks looking outclassed through the first two rounds, his rapid hands proving far too sharp for the slower Hanks (21–1, 14 KOs). Hanks did rally with a solid third round, landing a couple of heavy shots, but Ruiz shrugged them off without trouble.
