For example, in number 12, 2 is at one’s place. So here 2 simply means number 2. However, the number 1 is not just 1, it is actually 10. To put it simply there are 10 cubes hidden inside this 1. So, when you trade one to tens we know that inside every ten there are 10 cubes hidden inside. So, we will know that 10 cubes are equal to one long cube.
