Two highly skilled and highly respected grapplers square off in this 1 fall bout. Thea works over Santana in the corner, takes her to the mat, and almost scores an early tapout victory via a standing Figure Four Headlock. Santana makes it to the ropes, but Thea comes back with shoulderblocks and a nasty Dropkick that earns her a 2 count. Thea applies a seated Full Nelson and Stretch Muffler, and gets a couple more near falls. After connecting on running knees to the face, Thea has the match won, but lifts Santana from the mat after a 2 count. Big mistake. Santana battles back with forearm strikes with Thea trapped in the corner, rakes her eyes along the top rope, and delivers a Bodyslam and Headbutt. A pair of over-the-knee Backbreaker drops finally puts one wrestler down on the mat for a 3 count. The vanquished warrior then raises her opponent’s arm in a true display of respect between the two.
