Just weeks after an emergency medical situation saw Harry "Bulldog" Smith (aka Davey Boy Smith Jr.) taken to hospital for surgery, the inaugural Stu Hart Heritage Heavyweight Champion surprised fans in Calgary, Alberta. Harry updated fans on his condition, and set his sights on regaining the title. Since that injury, Nick Aldis would also end up vacating the Stu Hart Heritage Heavyweight Championship, as he would be hired as the new General Manager for WWE Friday night Smackdown. A new champion would be crowned later this night.
