Tyler Parker Collins Hill vs Rich Boland Walton 135lbs Finals Match 5A GHSA State Championships 2005 Georgia Archives Match of the Week #4 This was the most anticipated matchup at the State Tournament in the 2004-2005 season. Tyler Parker who was already a 3x State Champion and looking for his fourth vs Rich Boland who was a 2x State Champion already and looking for his third. Both were Seniors and competing in Georgia’s highest classification. Tyler Parker was the first 4x 5A State Champion ever in Georgia and compiled a career record of 196-11, only once ever losing to a wrestler from the state of Georgia when he was a Freshman. He would avenge that loss later in the last match of the season. He only lost 3 matches over his last 3 seasons and going 54-0 as a Senior. He then attended Stanford as a 4-year starter, went to get his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of PA, and is now Vice President of the Carlyle Group an investment banking based out of Palo Alto, California. Rich Boland was a 4x State Placer, 2x State Champion, and compiled a career record of 161-19. He would go on to wrestle at Gardener-Webb University where he wrestled for two years. He changed career paths after. He is now a police officer for Radnor Township, after being a SEPTA Police Officer before that.
