One of the biggest boxing beginner mistakes when they are learning their 6 basic punches is under rotation. Under rotation in your punches causes problems when you are throwing single punches and when you are building your boxing combinations. And that hip rotation must be driven from the feet. For your straight punches and you gain range and power. For your hooks and uppercuts you gain the crushing power that those punches call for. Your single punches and combination punches will be very poor if you don't drive the hip rotation, it's a major issue that you can't afford to ignore.
