One judge scored the fight 95–94 for Martin, but the other two had it 96–93 and 97–92 in favor of Lopez, handing him the victory. ESPN’s unofficial card also had it 95–94 for Martin. Martin, 29, controlled the tempo behind a sharp jab and well-timed check hooks — one of which dropped Lopez in Round 2.
