This is how Seth Rollins became the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion. In April 2023, Triple H unveiled the new title, for the brand without the Undisputed Champion. Few days later, Roman Reigns was drafted to Smackdown and the new title was exclusively for Raw. A week later on Raw, a tournament was announced for the title. Cody Rhodes said he will become the new champion. Seth Rollins interrupted and stared him down. Then Seth, Damian Priest and Shinsuke Nakamura met in the first round of the Raw bracket. Nakamura was about to tap out Priest, Seth appeared with the frog splash and hit him with the Pedigree to advance. Later that night, Finn and Seth met in the semi-final. Finn dodged the stomp, rolled up Seth, who countered him, hit him with the stomp and followed by another to advance. On Smackdown, Edge, Rey Mysterio and AJ Styles met in the first round of the Smackdown bracket. Theory tried to get out of the Hurt Lock, Sheamus hit him with the Brogue Kick, Lashley threw him out and pinned Theory to advance. Later that night, Lashley and Styles met in the semi-final. Styles hit Lashley with the Phenomenal Forearm to advance. On Raw, Seth talked about his entire career. He also said that the industry will change with him as the champion. On Smackdown, Grayson Waller invited Styles on his show. Styles hoped Seth was ready for him because he is. Waller said Seth’s going to be the champion and the show ended with them talking to each other. Then Karrion Kross and Scarlett took out a tarot card with Styles on it. On Raw
