Bret Hart vs Bulldog was the Summerslam 92 main event, held in Wembley Stadium, London - The Hitman was due to drop the Intercontinental Championship in order to begin his journey towards the WWF Championship and because SummerSlam took place in the UK, it made sense to give the Intercontinental Championship to Davey Boy Smith. Davey, however, was struggling around this time period. Bret Hart wrote in his book that it was he who carried the match from start to end. The British Bulldog completely forgot the match that he and Bret laid out in advance, so The Hitman had to make sure the main event went as planned by communicating each and every spot to Bulldog.
