Two second-half goals from Harvey Barnes proved enough to give Newcastle a 2-1 win over City. The Blues will feel hard done to, with at least two strong penalty claims denied by VAR and a number of good opportunities missed . Barnes, guilty of missing two chances in the opening period, scored on 63 and 70 minutes - the second after a lengthy offside check coming two minutes after Ruben Dias had briefly levelled. But despite a bright and lively display by City, ultimately it wasn’t enough against a Newcastle side who are far better than their current league position might suggest.
