Boxing Day

Had a really amazing evening watching this movie. It was funny and also heart warming in many scenes. Growing up our culture was only exposed to stereotypical adaptations of black culture, which I do enjoy I can't lie (intent, blue story, etc) however this challenged everything and could easily be the first of many films in its genre with a strong black cast. The soundtrack was also incredible. Well chosen and excellently executed. All involved should be proud of yourselves. Acme and my partner enjoyed the movie and would recommend it to everyone.

I absolutely loved this movie!! Firstly can we talk about the soundtrack!! This British film was warm and perfect for the holiday season. Also Jermaine (Josh Malhoney) did a great job absolutely loved seeing him on screen. I can't wait to see more from this director. Loved it!!!

My thoughts about this film....... All these 10/10 reviews are completely false i have a feeling they are biased because of the cast........ There are plenty of classic christmass films you can watch.

I'm actually stunned by these reviews. I thought this movie was so cute and entertaining. I loved it! It was funny and thoughtful and honest. I'm not sure what the expectations were based on these reviews, but for me it had heart. It was a story about love, family, heart break and the lessons we learn in order to move forward in life. And yes I received all of that from a light and funny rom com! Also as a bonus, the music/ soundtrack is Excellent! So please don't trust the bad reviews, watch and laugh and enjoy a beautiful movie with a beautiful cast.

It was a typical Christmas romantic dramedy. I would have preferred more comedy though. I was expecting lots of laughs and there were really only a few. So a bit of wasted talent there. But a decent watch.

Amazing movie debut from the talented Leigh-Anne Pinnock. I am excited to see where her career takes her as I follow her journey through not only acting but also music.

Kudos to this writer/actor on making a romantic Xmas movie because it's never easy balancing without over doing one. Writer had good intentions but missed the mark; as if someone just did a mediocre editing job! But looking forward to more polished future projects from this writer!

Overall this was definitely a good family movie. I didn't necessarily care for the beginning of the film but at the end I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the movie. I think some people may not be able to connect with the film or perhaps don't understand the culture the film is based on as it dives into hints of afro, Caribbean roots along with American and UK black culture. Perhaps that's why they aren't pleased with it, I don't know. It was extremely refreshing to see an almost all black cast that portrayed normal family ups and downs with a holiday twist. The soundtrack was great and the movie was entertaining. I would definitely recommend watching it.
