For years, many thought that I had a bias towards Taekwondo. It's simply not true. In fact, I love Taekwondo, it's the first martial art that I deeply appreciated. In the 90s and early 2000s, Taekwondo was very aesthetically pleasing and much more brutal. There are so many great Taekwondo techniques that have worked throughout historic fights. However, they became less popular for a reason: karate and Taekwondo style fighters were often getting stretchered out of the ring due to Muay Thai style leg kicks.
