I had a little trouble with my Macintosh last time, so let’s play Space Quest 3 for DOS this week! I just learned about it in the new June 1989 issue of Video Games & Computer Entertainment with RoboCop on the cover. Originally streamed May 9, 2025. Space Quest III: The Pirates of Pestulon was designed by Scott Murphy and Mark Crowe, the “Two Guys from Andromeda,” and released by Sierra On-Line in March 1989. Following the events of the second game, Roger Wilco drifts through space, deep asleep in an escape pod. The pod is picked up by a garbage scow and Roger is jostled awake. Meanwhile, a deadly android seeks to terminate Roger over an unpaid debt. The Macintosh version of Space Quest III is a bit unusual in that it’s drawn at a slightly higher resolution than the DOS version, to mixed success.
