Society loves telling us what to do, especially when it comes to our health. Especially for Gen Z and Millenial women, the promotion of "health = appearance" is a constant pressure affecting how we show up in our everyday lives. We partake in crazy diets and exercise programs hoping to change our appearance to reflect whatever the world views as beautiful - whether that's being as small as possible, having an hourglass figure, or showing off muscle. We post only the most flattering Instagram photos at very specific angles to make us look like we have abs or hide the body parts we're insecure about showing the world. And at the same time, we're constantly comparing ourselves to everyone else, beating ourselves up for not looking good enough - and therefore not being good enough. Meredith Mistrot is a college student who is done putting up with society's pressure on girls to appear perfect, so she has instead put her focus into finding who she is outside of the world's expectations of her. In her podcast, Meredith shares how she is trying to redefine healthy for herself in the areas of food, fitness, and self-care through a mix of educational tidbits and personal experiences. Her hope is that Healthy for Herself can inspire you, too, to redefine health for yourself so that you can show up authentically in all areas of your life.
