This is Finn Balor’s main roster debut. In July 2016, Finn Balor was drafted from NXT to Raw. On Raw, the new Universal Title was announced. Mick Foley set some qualifiers to determine who faces Seth Rollins for it. Finn, Cesaro, Rusev and Kevin Owens met in the first one. Finn hit Rusev with the Coup de Grâce to advance. Roman Reigns won the second qualifier. Finn wished Roman good luck, who then wished him back and they met in the final. Finn hit Roman with the Coup de Grâce to face Seth at Summerslam. Finn had an interview a week later. Before he could say anything, Seth interrupted. He said that everything Finn did, Seth did first. Finn didn’t have a problem with that because he wants to be the first Universal Champion. Seth started laughing, adding that Raw is his show. Finn thought Seth’s laugh is annoying, adding that everywhere he went, he beat everyone. Seth said he never faced anyone like him. Finn said he earned a shot at the title, while it was handed to Seth. Seth got really angry, saying that he worked hard for it and he will beat him at Summerslam. A week later, Finn told Seth he won’t be facing him at Summerslam, he will face the Demon King. Next week, Seth called out the Demon King in the Parking Lot. Then he called him out in the ring and he appeared. They stood face to face, they started brawling, Seth kicked Finn in the head, who then kicked him back. Finn dropkicked Seth, he dodged the Coup de Grâce and Finn jumped outside on him, standing tall at the end. They met at Summerslam, where Finn hit Seth with the Coup de Grâce to win the title. Next day on Raw, Finn relinquished the title due to a shoulder injury. In April 2017, Kevin and Samoa Joe faced Seth and a mystery partner. It was a returning Finn.
